A Clear Path, Built Around You
Most contractors hand you a quote and disappear. We built a process where you are never confused, pressured, or blindsided -- and we put a 100-day build clock in writing to back it up.
From First Call to Move-In Day
Project Clarity Conversation
A real conversation, not a sales pitch: who you are building for, what you are trying to solve, and whether an ADU is even the right move. If it is not, we will tell you.
See a Finished ADU in Person
Walk through a completed BuildX ADU, touch the finishes, ask the hard questions. Most clients say this is the moment it stops feeling like a dream and starts feeling real.
Project Discovery Call
Now we get specific: your site, feasibility, budget ranges, and design ideas, making sure the vision, budget, and reality all line up. If something does not, we will say so.
Site Visit
Our builder walks your property, reading the lot, utilities, access, and setbacks, to catch anything that could blow up a budget before any money changes hands.
Proposal Review
We sit down and walk every line, full scope, timeline, and budget guidance, with no vague items and no surprises buried in the fine print. Hard questions welcome.
Design Kickoff Agreement
This launches design and engineering -- your designer, engineers, and permit team get to work. It is not the construction contract, just the green light to plan your project properly.
Budget Review & Selections
We review all pricing and selections together, so you see where every dollar goes, and work through anything over budget here, before you sign a construction contract.
Construction Contract
With your approved budget and selections, we sign and break ground. By now you know us, you have seen our work, and you know exactly what to expect.
100-Day Guaranteed Build
Move-in ready within 100 days* of the first shovel, in writing, not a goal. Tight sequencing, subs who respect the schedule, a PM who keeps it moving.
Move In Day!
Your parent has their own space. Your adult child is out of the spare room. Your family is together, with room to breathe. This is why we do what we do.
How Long It Really Takes
Plan on roughly 6 to 9 months start to finish. Town permitting usually runs 90 to 120+ days and we handle all of it -- and once we break ground, your home is finished in 100 days* or less, guaranteed.
Not an Estimate. A Guarantee.
Once we break ground, your ADU is move-in ready within 100 days* of the first shovel -- guaranteed in writing, not aspirational marketing.
We can promise it because of everything that happens before the build: by the time the first shovel goes in, your design, budget, selections, and permits are all locked. No mid-project scrambling.

Completed BuildX ADUs and counting -- every one delivered on the 100-day* build guarantee.
*The 100-day build clock starts at the first shovel, after design, budget, selections, and permitting are complete. If your build is going to run longer than 100 days, we will tell you the day we finish pre-construction -- before we break ground -- and explain exactly why. The reasons are almost always site-driven: ledge, difficult soil or grade, unusual lot conditions, or other things we can only confirm once your property work is fully scoped.
Real ADUs. Real Build Times.
Every one of these is a completed BuildX ADU, delivered on the 100-day* build guarantee. This list updates automatically as each new project is finished.
Questions About How We Build
How long does the whole ADU process take?
Plan on roughly 6 to 9 months from your first conversation to move-in day. Town permitting is the biggest variable and usually runs 90 to 120+ days, which we handle for you. Once we break ground, your home is finished in 100 days* or less, guaranteed.
What does the 100-day guarantee actually cover?
It means your ADU is move-in ready within 100 days* of the first shovel -- in writing, not a goal. The clock starts at the construction contract and break-ground, after design, budget, selections, and permits are already locked. If a build is going to run longer than 100 days, we tell you the day we finish pre-construction, before we break ground, and explain exactly why -- almost always site-driven reasons like ledge, difficult soil, or unusual lot conditions.
Why does permitting take so long, and is that on you?
The wait before the build is mostly the town's clock, not ours. It is the part that tests your patience, but it works in your favor: by the time the first shovel goes in, every detail is locked, which is exactly why we can guarantee the 100 days.
When do I actually have to commit money?
Not until you have the full picture. The early steps -- Clarity Conversation, in-person ADU showing, Discovery Call, and Site Visit -- happen before any money changes hands. The Design Kickoff Agreement launches design and engineering, and the Construction Contract is signed only after you have reviewed and approved every line and selection.
Do you really build on-site, or is it modular?
Every BuildX ADU is a real, stick-built home constructed on your property -- nothing modular, nothing prefab. You get full-house quality at a smaller footprint, and a build process you can watch happen in your own yard.
