When you work with BuildX, you share personal information: your home address, property details, financial documents, family situations, and project plans. We take that seriously. This page explains what we do to protect your data, not in legal terms, but in plain English.

Website Security

Our website is protected by industry-standard security measures:

  • SSL/TLS encryption: Every page on buildx.com is served over HTTPS with 256-bit SSL encryption. Any information you submit through our forms is encrypted in transit.
  • Secure hosting: Our website is hosted on enterprise-grade servers with automated backups, DDoS protection, and 24/7 server monitoring.
  • Security headers: We implement HTTP security headers including Content Security Policy, X-Frame-Options, and Strict-Transport-Security to protect against common web vulnerabilities.
  • Regular updates: Our website software and server environment are kept current with the latest security patches.

How We Handle Your Personal Information

Here's what happens when you share information with us:

  • Contact form submissions: are encrypted in transit and delivered directly to our team. We don't store form data in publicly accessible databases.
  • Phone conversations: are not recorded without your knowledge or consent.
  • Project documents: blueprints, permits, financial paperwork, and contracts are stored securely and shared only with team members who need them for your project.
  • Property photos and project images: are only used publicly (on our website or social media) with your explicit permission.

What We Never Do

Some things are non-negotiable:

  • We never sell your personal information to third parties. Not to marketing companies, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
  • We never share your financial details with anyone outside of the professionals directly involved in your project (your lender, your attorney, as authorized by you).
  • We never use your property address or project details in our marketing without your written consent.
  • We never send unsolicited marketing communications. If you hear from us, it's because you contacted us first or opted in to receive updates.

Payment Security

BuildX does not process credit card payments through our website. Project payments are handled through established construction lending processes with your financial institution. Any payment-related documents are transmitted through secure, encrypted channels.

Third-Party Tools

We use third-party services to operate our website, understand how visitors use it, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing. Here's a complete list:

Analytics & User Experience

  • Google Analytics: Tracks anonymized website usage data (pages visited, time on site, device type). No personally identifiable information is collected.
  • Microsoft Clarity: Records anonymized visitor behavior (scroll depth, click patterns, session replays) to help us improve page layouts and user experience. All data is aggregated and anonymous.
  • AgencyAnalytics: Consolidates our marketing performance data into a single reporting dashboard. Used internally by our team to monitor campaign effectiveness.

Advertising & Conversion Tracking

  • Facebook Pixel: Tracks conversions from our Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns. This helps us understand which ads are reaching homeowners who are genuinely interested in ADUs, so we can spend our advertising budget more effectively.
  • Google Ads: Tracks conversions from our Google search advertising. Used to measure which search campaigns drive consultations and home tour visits.
  • Stape: A server-side tag management platform that processes our tracking data securely on our own servers before sending it to analytics platforms. This adds an extra layer of data protection compared to standard browser-based tracking.
  • YouTube: Hosts our video content and provides viewership analytics for our educational videos, podcasts, and project walkthroughs.

Communication & Customer Service

  • HubSpot: Manages our contact forms and customer communications securely.
  • CallPage: Powers our callback feature. Phone numbers submitted through CallPage are used only to return your call.

Each of these services maintains its own security standards and compliance certifications. We select vendors who meet or exceed industry security benchmarks. None of these tools collect or transmit your personal information beyond what is necessary for their stated purpose.

Access to customer information is limited to BuildX team members who need it to serve you. Our team understands that your project details, family situation, and financial information are confidential. That's not a policy we had to write, it's how we've operated for over 40 years.
